The most magical maternity session, at Pizza Hut!

Would you believe me if I said that one of the most beautiful maternity sessions I've shot was in a Pizza Hut parking lot?  We are a little cray sometimes, but trust your photographers vision. Desperate times call for creative measures!

Some people are seasonal storm chasers, me? I'm a seasonal snow chaser. Moving to El Paso has gotten me closer to snow than I've been in 10 years, and sessions in the snow are my DREEEEAM. So when I saw on Facebook one morning that it had snowed about 2 hours North, I'm talking blankets, and I needed me a pregnant mama STAT. One of my great friends Cheyenne offered to model for me and so in 24 hours, with her 2 and 5 year old in tow, we planned our trip up to Ruidoso. Driving about an hour in, you could see the snow covered mountain tops in the distance and my heart was a flutter. Though, as we got closer and closer to our destination, I came to the realization that most of the snow had melted. Becoming discouraged I decided to turn back to a very little spot I saw driving into town that COULD work. It wasn't ideal, but it was better than wasting the trip. 

It wasn't the spot I was aiming for, but just out of the corner of my eye, I saw it. The perfect amount of snow on the ground, and covering the rocks that created somewhat of a mountain up the back, in the Pizza Hut parking lot. Never in my life have a cut a right turn with kids in the car like I did then.

We got Cheyenne dressed, up a few rocks, and we started shooting! Her boys Noah, 2, and Jonah, 5, had a blast making mini snow angels and throwing snow all over the place!
